THE IMPACT OF KIND WORDS

Saying “what you did had a positive impact on me” is a profound message to give to another human being – it puts both of you in a happier, more grateful frame of mind. Neuroscience research suggests that expressing gratitude increases dopamine and serotonin, and activates the ventromedial prefrontal cortex. I have begun to collect kind words about my work below. Feel free to send more – it’s good for you and me both!
Words from a Police Inspector from a Wellbeing Team
“This course [Certificate in Leadership across Challenging Environments] has been one of the most insightful and reflective leadership programmes I’ve taken part in. It goes far beyond theory – it’s about understanding yourself and others, sustaining performance through uncertainty, and leading with empathy, calm, and integrity when it matters most.
Each module has encouraged me to think deeply about how we build resilience not only in ourselves but across our teams – particularly in high-pressure and emotionally demanding roles. The emphasis on self-care, communication, and sustainable habits has really resonated, both professionally and personally.
Thank you, Caroline, for the opportunity and for delivering such a powerful and evidence-based programme. I’ve taken away tools and reflections that will stay with me throughout my leadership journey and in my work supporting others through challenge and change”

RK
Student on the Certificate on Leadership across Challenging Environments – “The whole course so far has been hugely insightful, useful and necessary. Simply superb. But for me, module 5 in particular has been an absolute game-changer. I will reflect on the learning and try to put into practice the amalgamation of psychological, emotional and practical skills – both at work and in my personal life ! Thank you.”

“The one-to-one support I have received from Caroline has been better than I could have imagined. I didn’t know until I had it, how important it is to have someone to talk to and yes – even be vulnerable with – outside of my organisation. Caroline has helped me understand myself on a whole new level. I can’t thank her enough. “

Chloe T.
“I had my Integrated Resonance Therapy session with Caroline this morning and wow! This was my first of any kind of meditation/reiki/sound therapy and I was pretty skeptical to what sort of impact it would have on me since I’m quite a tense person and often have had wondering thoughts when I’ve tried to meditate alone. However, I have spent the rest of the day completely relaxed and have felt an intense sense of power over my body and thoughts. I definitely put this down to using an amazing guide with years of experience and an approachable nature – she made me feel super comfortable from the get go. I would recommend Caroline over and over!”

Iola G,
“Caroline is such a nurturing leader – she acts as a gentle and inspiring coach, and her experience makes her a great mentor – she has been through a lot, yet is so gounded herself. What makes Caroline special is that she really genuinely cares about supporting you and witnessing you develop to your best potential”

Shona D.
“Caroline is warm, gentle, empathetic and intuitive. She is a fantastic listener and has always made me feel comfortable in her company. When you meet Caroline, you’ll understand when I say that you’ll feel as though you’ve known her for years. She instantly puts you at ease. I have received a few Reiki treatments from Caroline. Through the use of Reiki sessions Caroline helped me to navigate the trauma and has improved my long standing chronic fatigue. I cannot recommend Caroline enough. Don’t be shy, reach out to her, she is amazing.”

Bee B.
“I found the experience really really good, hours after the mindfulness training and even the next morning it provided a real sense of relaxation and calm, a richer calm from the “chattering monkeys” and ancillary noise we experience. You are clearly very talented in this area and your understanding and relaying of the subject is notable, I would certainly recommend you!”

Kiera S.
“I found the introductory session very informative. It provided a well-rounded insight into different types of meditation and provided a good opportunity to try the different methods out. It was reassuring when other members of the group were providing their input as to why they wanted to take part in the session. This provided an emotional connection within the group that made me feel more at ease to try the meditation methods without feeling uncomfortable. Caroline is a very knowledgeable, supportive and welcoming meditation leader and I would thoroughly recommend her meditation sessions to anyone.”

Abbi C.
“Caroline came to our house to treat both my dad and I. As a sports therapist I was intrigued about Reiki treatment and wanted an excuse to relax. It was a lovely experience and I felt really chilled out after. My dad is currently going through cancer treatment and he massively benefitted from his treatment. It made him release energy via laughter and it took away the pain he was experiencing from his lymphatic drains. Caroline is amazing, and a person that you need in your life”

Kathryn W.
“Following a day long forest meditation retreat: I wanted to say thank you for yesterday. Everything seemed just right, weather, location and your expert guidance. You are definitely making a difference, and should be really proud of the impact you are having“

Jim D.
“Caroline is an amazing guide and leader. She knows her stuff – and whilst she is a spiritual person, she is also very down to earth and approachable. Thank you for helping others”

Anka J,
“Dear Caz, I just wanted to say a massive thank you for the session last week. On purpose I waited a few days before sending this. Just wanted to see how I felt over the next few days. And first thing that comes to my mind is WELL BALANCED and GROUNDED. I can’t really describe it but it just feels right. So massively grateful, that’s exactly what I needed. Great combination of Reiki, guided meditation, sound and an overall great soul ( you!) – thank you”

Andrew C.
“I was dubious at first – but the micro resilience coaching really hits the spot. There is a lot to be said for little and often. One of the messages arrived and stopped me in my tracks. It was so powerful it moved me to tears. I good reminder to take better care of myself.”
RECEIVING THE POLICE IMPACT AWARD FOR SUPPORTIVE LEADERSHIP & WELLBEING IN 2024

CITATION ON THE AWARD: Caroline has offered her services, in her free time, to deliver meditation workshops for police personnel. She has more than 20 years of experience in this area, and brought this expertise to the workplace with enthusiasm and without expectation of recognition.
This started with an introduction to meditation workshop, which was so popular that it has now become a monthly activity. The sessions are really well attended and attract a regular group of participants. They provide an opportunity for people to relax and unwind, as well as improving their resilience and coping strategies through focused attention activities.
The initiative has received praise from our Force Medical Advisor, who strongly advocates for the benefits of meditation, and anecdotal feedback from participants has been enormously positive.
By sharing her skills freely in her own time, Caroline has no doubt made a big difference to the wellbeing of all those who attend. It is due to this extra-mile behaviour that Caroline has been given a Supportive Leadership and Wellbeing award.
